About Badgerbrook

Badgerbrook is a very popular primary school with a reputation for high standards of behaviour and achievement. We strive to create a special place where all children, parents, governors and staff feel valued and respected and work together within a happy, friendly and caring learning community. We promote a whole school ethos of ‘No Outsiders at Badgerbrook’. The school is a place where everyone is welcome and all difference is celebrated. Our aim is that our children leave primary school happy and excited about living in a world full of difference and diversity, whether that difference is through ethnicity, gender, ability, age, sexual orientation or religion. We want everyone to enjoy coming to our school!

The school opened in 1992 with just 72 pupils. We currently have almost 420 pupils aged from 4 to 11, with 2 classes in each year group, an enthusiastic and hardworking staff and a committed governing body. We were judged Outstanding by Ofsted in 2011.

We are part of the Thomas Estley Teaching School Alliance (TELA) and work closely with a range of schools across South Leicestershire. Working with TELA and The University of Leicester we offer training opportunities for student teachers. We also work with Nottingham Trent University and Leicester College to provide classroom placements for their students.

We have an active PTA – the Friends of Badgerbrook – which organises a range of fund-raising and social events. Any parent is welcome to join our PTA.

We hope that you find your visit to our website helpful, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

We would like to remind you that we will post any information about changes to the school day on this page as soon as we can. We will also send out text messages so please make sure that your contact details are up to date. More information can be found

Please can we remind you that all pupils should wear appropriate footwear in adverse weather conditions. We will take reasonable care to ensure the safety of all those using our site but we cannot guarantee that all risks can be avoided.  We will endeavour to keep the main path into school open and if necessary ask all children to use the entrances on the main playground. However even if a path has been recently gritted it may still be slippery in some areas. Details of the 'Bad Weather Information' were included in the November 2018 Newsletter.

Parents are reminded to listen to BBC Radio Leicester bulletins (104.9 FM) or to look at the BBC Radio Leicester web site for details of school closures – http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/Leicestershire. If the school is closed the information will also be on the Badgerbrook website by 8.00 am. and we will use the text messaging service to send out information.
