Creative Curriculum Week 2018

Food Glorious Food

Our whole school Creative Week (Monday 26th February to Friday 2nd March) was based around the theme of food. The children were learning about food in a science-related way and also working creatively and artistically on food topics. Each year group took part in a wide variety of enrichment activities linked to their year group theme:

Foundation Stage – The Gingerbread Man

Year 1 – The Wonder of Chocolate

Year 2 – Dairy Detectives

Year 3 – A Rainbow of Food

Year 4 – The Wacky World of Food

Year 5 – Wonderful Willy Wonka

Year 6 – Back in Time for Tea

Day 1 Searching for the runaway gingerbread man, making biscuits and investigating milk!

Day 2 The investigations continued!

Day 3 Visitors in school and a trip back in time

Day 4 Yogurt, ice cream, science experiments, fair trade and dunking biscuits

Donations came in from across the school community for the food bank in Wigston:

Parents and grandparents came into school on Friday 9th March to find out more about what we had been learning during the exciting week.

Our whole school theme for Creative Curriculum Week 2017 was: Journeys
Foundation Stage investigated Journeys By Aeroplane
Year 1 and Year 2 explored Journeys Into Space
Year 3 and Year 4 looked at Journeys On And Below Water
Year 5 focused on Journeys By Car
Year 6 studied a Journey Back In Time (Victorians)

The Badgerbrook Vehicle Show in the playground on Wednesday 1st March from 9.30 to 10.30.

A particular highlight of the week (which made it into the Leicester Mercury) was our amazing Vehicle show that was organised by Mrs D Newcombe and took place in our playground. The whole school had the opportunity to look at a range of transport and talk to the owners. Thank you if you were one of our parents who gave your time and expertise on that morning.

Creative Curriculum Week 2016 was on the theme of Countries around the World.
