All children should arrive at school by 8.55 a.m. Registration takes place at 9.00 a.m.
Although all children start and finish their day at the same time, they do not all have the same morning break or lunch hour.
We ask that children do not arrive at school before 8.45 a.m. as there is no teacher on duty until that time. Children in Foundation Classes and Year 1 and 2 may enter the cloakrooms between 8.45 and 8.55 a.m. Whilst the youngest children are initially brought into the cloakrooms by their parents, please encourage your child to come into school independently as soon as possible. An adult will be on duty to receive your child at the entrance and you may give them any messages or notes for the teacher. In order to ensure a calm and purposeful start to the day, it is important that the teacher is in the classroom to greet all children. It is easier to have a quick word with the teacher at the end of the day. Please only ask to speak to the teacher at the beginning of the day in an emergency. Alternatively, you may wish to make an appointment at a mutually convenient time.
For older children in Key Stage 2, a whistle is blown at 8.55 a.m. The children line up in classes and are taken into school by their teacher or a teaching assistant. Please ensure that your child arrives on time as the gates are locked at 9.00 a.m. All latecomers must come into school via the main entrance. Late marks are recorded in the attendance register.
In the event of torrential rain, the whistle will be blown early and children will be able to come into school from 8.45 a.m.
We have a lunchtime Charter which explains expectations for behaviour at lunchtimes. Click here to find out more.
